March Madness (March)
As winter comes to a close, the NCAA men's and women's basketball championships hit a frenzied pace. This year, one of the locations for the first round of games will be right here in San Diego at Cox Arena.

Runs or buns? No matter. It's Trevor Time! Hop on the trolley and head to the Q. Stop for a pre-game warm-up at Hazard Center (Trophy's) or Fenton Parkway (Oggi's Pizza), just a few stops west of Qualcomm Stadium

California State Winter Games (Figure Skating - March 3-4)

Annual Kiwanis Ocean Beach Kite Festival (Mar 3)
Includes crafts fair, kite making, decorating and flying contest for all ages. Food, entertainment, parade to the beach for kite flying. Free kite making or bring your own kite to be judged. Ocean Beach Recreation center, 4726 Santa Monica Avenue. 9am-4pm. 619-531-1527.

Latino Film Festival (Mar 8-18)

St. Patrick's Day (Mar 17)

Carlsbad Flower Fields (Mid-Mar through May)

Robert Griffith Celebrity Golf Classic (Mar 20)
Shotgun start at 9am with a 1pm luncheon. Many celebrities will participate including Daunte Culpepper, Cris Carter, Terrell Owens, Marshall Faulk and many other national sports, entertainment and media celebrities. Information: 770-439-GOAL

Annual 'Wine & Dine' (Mar 24)
ElderHelp of San Diego's Wine and Dine is the largest food and wine event in San Diego, featuring premier regional wines from California and Baja California with food from some of San Diego's most prominent restaurants. Circle of Art Borrego (Mar 24-25)

Annual Rolando Street Fair (Mar 25)

California Half Ironman Triathlon ( Mar 31)
Starting and ending at the Oceanside Pier, athletes will compete in the race by swimming 1.2 miles in Oceanside Harbor, bike the 56 miles on Camp Pendleton and the half-marathon run will be along the coast and finish at the Oceanside Pier.
